Custom Flavoring
This feature of compounding is very beneficial especially to pediatric clients who have a hard time taking medicines with bitter tastes. We can incorporate flavored medications to devices such as baby bottles and pacifiers to make administration easier. Rest assured that all the devices we use are child-proof and safe in packaging.

Custom flavoring can be made available for most oral forms of medications, but can also be done for more unique delivery systems to accommodate finicky patients.

Capsules
Customization for capsules is often indicated for clients who have allergies to certain drug components such as gluten, dyes, preservatives and other forms of irritants. Capsules can also be used as vehicles for mixtures of more than two medications. This will help promote compliance on patients who need to take several medications at a time.

Oral Formulations
Changing a certain dosage form into liquids will assist patients who have difficulties in swallowing solid forms such as capsules and tablets. To add up to the palatability of the oral solutions though, custom flavoring can be done. An alternative to oral liquids would be powder forms which will have to be mixed with water.

troches img
Troches/Lollipops
Troches and lollipops are the ideal dosage forms for medications that need to stay in the mouth for local effect. They can be specially indicated for geriatric and pediatric clients.

Putting troches under the tongue will allow faster absorption due to the abundance of sublingual blood vessels. Sometimes, troches are made chewable and easy to swallow for patients having difficulty taking in tablets and capsules. Custom flavoring also often comes with this service to make the taste of the medication more tolerable.

Topical Preparations
Topical preparations are advisable for clients who wish to avoid gastrointestinal adverse effects such as upset stomach. They are readily absorbed through the skin and offer convenience in application. Common forms of topical preparations include gels, creams and lotions, sprays, foams, lip balms and other stick applicators.

Topical medications are often prescribed for nausea/gastrointestinal conditions, pain management and skin inflammations.
suppositories img
Suppositories
Suppositories are a form of medications that are administered through an orifice: vaginally, rectally or urethrally. They are available in different shapes that suit their routes of administration, and they are quickly absorbed into the bloodstream by virtue of these routes.

Some common indications for compounded suppositories are nausea, infections, inflammation and hemorrhoids.
